In 1994 I was diagnosed with a very rare cancer. I then underwent over 2 years of surgeries and treatments. All those years ago, there wasn’t much out there in terms of items of comfort for us as we went through the suffering of chemo, the loss of hair and the loss of our dignity. Now society has embraced the care of those going through chemo treatments. We have chosen to CARE and COMFORT what happens to our neighbors suffering during this difficult time.
Now years later, I am healthy and hoping what I learned can help comfort others. That is the reason we have chosen the items we have. Certain things can make a hospital room feel more comforting than it really is. And being confined to your home or even your own bed isn’t always what you want either. Let us offer to you some items that might make some of those times a little more comfortable and just a little easier to deal with………and we can keep it………..Just Between Us.
Some items might be - Pajama’s………as I got ready to leave for my first hospital stay I realized I didn’t have anything appropriate to wear in a hospital room where people come and go all day and night. I had over sized T-shirts, shorts and a few night gowns. I needed more of a lounging pair of pj’s. Something that buttoned down the front for easier access to my port-a-cath, my IV’s and my surgery stitches.
After losing my hair, my head got cold and all that was offered to me was a wig or a turban….in Navy, black and red only! No fun colors for this 30-something year old. I’d like to offer you a variety of fun colors! If you have to be bald---might as well have some fun with it.
We are also offering shawls, scarves and blankets……..I was always cold sitting in bed, especially when my blood counts went down and had a hard time keeping those bed sheets up to my neck all the time. I’d like to offer you a better alternative….a prayer shawl, a hug shawl, a beautiful scarf, and even a nice fleece blanket to just wrap around your shoulders, much like a hug, to keep you warm and ward off those chills. We are offering them in many fun colors and designs.
Queasy pops - a little something to help with nausea………I certainly didn’t have those when I was sick! Very cool item!!
These are just a few of the things we are offering to you. We have care packages already put together for you, but feel free to add other items to your care package and make it your own. OR - put together your very own items for a care package made just for that someone in your life that needs it now and keep it ……………………………….just between us!!!!!

We will also donate 5% of each purchase to cancer research and other cancer aide organizations. This will be a priority for our business. Each month we will put a total amount of donations and to which organization at the bottom of our HOME page. These funds are used to develop new drugs, medications and chemo-therapy protocols. Some of the aide organizations are able to assist patients and their families with a small monetary assistance. My husband and I know firsthand how much this helps. We can keep it all, Just Between Us!
